Did an interesting session today during lunchtime. MTB session where I hit every hill possible on my route. Given a choice of routes, take the high road. A similar session can be done on the road bike but with the MTB there are so much more options.
I felt strong throughout but still feel now like I have had a good session – it was definitely more than maintenance training.
Yesterday I started a new experiment: training in the morning before breakfast.
Uncharacteristically, I started out very conservatively: just 25 minutes. A few times I felt hunger pangs but I decided to embrace them positively rather than feel bad about them. I think the strategy worked.
I’ll increase the distance and frequency over the next few days and weeks (and months and years?).
